Fall Field Day on October 12

The Homeschool Field Day this summer was a great time and we wanted to follow up with another event to connect Christian homeschool families from all over Manitoba at our farm for fun, fellowship and friendly competition. Our events are open to all Christian families who are serious about home-based, biblical, parent-led discipleship for their children.

We are inviting you to our place again- this time for a literal “field day”! Here's the plan: on October 12, come to our farm at 1:30 (or anytime after that), we're going to work on pasture reclamation for a while, then we'll break for an early wiener roast around 5 pm, after which the wide games will start and we'll play until it's too dark to see. You are more than welcome to join in at any point in the day.

We often get requests from families who want to experience a bit of real farm life (ie. work!), so that's why we're including a work bee for the afternoon portion of our fall event. We will head out to the pasture and collect misc. junk from the previous operators. Please come dressed for the weather, don't wear your Sunday best, bring work gloves and those who are old enough could bring exacto knives for cutting twine.

The supper will be a “bring your own” wiener roast, but we will provide everything except the buns and dogs. We will provide drinks, cups, plates, napkins, condiments, chips, marshmallows, veggies. You bring hotdogs and buns for your family. If you have extra roasting sticks, bring those, too, but please label them. Bring lawn chairs as well.

We are Chuck and Danea Lawrenson and our farm is near Sanford, MB. Please visit www.morningsoundfarm.com/maps to get a description of how to find us. If you have any further questions, you can certainly call us 204-736-3460. There is no pre-registration for this field day and there is also no fee. For updates, reminders and concerns about weather, visit our blog . We look forward to seeing you on October 12!
